Cabin on Swede Hill

Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

Cozy Little Aframe

Relax at this unique cozy a-frame in Drake subdivision on 250 acre Lake VanAuken. Enjoy morning coffee on either deck watching the squirrels jump from tree to tree. Head into South Haven, St Joe’s Silver Beach, or Saugatuck and enjoy the beaches, shops and restaurants. Head to one of the many winery’s. Or just stick around at our beach just around the block. The Gathering Place! Studio/Hot Tub/Patio Igloo

The Gathering place is a "barndominium" studio that sleeps 4 comfortably, just 10 miles to South Haven beaches and SW Michigan wine trails. Relax in the studio and private patio with family or invite some friends and park a camper right outside! This unique space offers a full hookup for friends to join! The studio feature a king size bed with a full size mattress that slides underneath. Stay comfortable with AC, electric fireplace, WIFI, TV, gas grill, patio with firepit and hot tub!

Cabin in the Woods

The cabin is nestled to the back of the 3.6 acres of a private wooded land with a short walk to the all sport lake. The updated home features two bedrooms, sleeping loft, family room, washer/dryer, all the amenities of home. Enjoy the 160 ft of lakefront off our private dock. We have 2 kayaks, a Canoe and a small fishing boat, floaties and life vests for boating or swimming. Enjoy a day at the lake, cook dinner on one of our grills and enjoy the evening by the firepit.

Cedar Suite

Cedar Suite is a haven away from all of life's hustle. It is set far back from the road surrounded by beautiful Michigan forest and right along the Black River. If you are looking to experience all Southwest Michigan has to offer without being surrounded by people, you've found your perfect location. Enjoy the local wineries, beaches, restaurants and shopping or choose to enjoy the solitude at Cedar Suite. New King bed in main room and single in bedroom with new TV.

Forest Haven

The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.

Van Auken Lake cottage rental

This cottage ambiance is quiet and relaxing. You have the option of relaxing on the deck, kayaking on the lake, or driving a short distance to Lake Michigan. You can sit by the fire and enjoy the night sounds, or relax inside with a book or play a game together. We have quiet when you want to relax and fun towns and beaches when you are ready for exploring. It offers you a comfortable visit to a great area of Michigan.

The Bear Cave Log Cabin

The Bear Cave log Cabin is secluded with a hiking trail connecting to North Point County Park that leads to the beach. The Van Buren State Park beach/campground access is 0.5 miles away. The Fields General Store is right next door. The Cabin is located 3 miles from the city of South Haven. Relax on the screened porch, around the fire pit, hiking to the beach, or simply inside enjoying the log home.
