Treehouses at Candlelight Forest/Sophie's Roost

Sophie's Roost is one of two treehouses for rent in the Candlelight Forest, a Simpler Times resort 18 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Sophie's Roost sleeps 6 and has a deck featuring our signature Canopy Kitchette for a unique outdoor grilling experience. The treehouse is professionally decorated by Sophie's of Chattanooga. The Candlelight Forest is central to all the famous Chattanooga attractions, in addition to offering fishing and canoeing on our own Lake Angela. Perched in a beautiful tree canopy, Sophie's Roost is built upon a sloping ridge which provides for very safe and easy access, as the entrance is at ground level. Tamara Dillard, the owner of Sophie's, a home decor shop located in the North Shore district of Chattanooga, professionally decorated Sophie's Roost, hence its name. Upon arrival, a short stroll through the woods (and after dark, under near-magical hanging moon lights) brings you to the front door of your home away from home. A queen bed nook with privacy curtain, an open living area, a full bath, a back porch, and many thoughtful nooks and crannies adorned with decorator surprises provide the downstairs living experience. Up a two-tiered loft ladder, 4 twin beds and a cute half bath await the more adventurous up above. Our own signature Canopy Kitchenette (TM) rounds out the experience. The back porch has a very simple kitchen that includes a stainless wash sink, concrete countertop, toaster, and a gas grill with side burner, all elegantly covered in the shade of an oversized umbrella. Dine upon the custom built-in fold-down table and antique wooden chairs. Sophie's Roost combines the greatest of all vacation experiences - cooking outdoors with shelter to boot, cozy spaces for family fun and romance, and a home base for all the excitement that awaits in this enchanting mountain and valley world only minutes from vibrant Chattanooga. The Candlelight Forest Resort, of which the treehouse is part, is comprised of 200 acres of preserve that includes two small mountain lakes for catch and release fishing, hiking trails, and a park with badminton, corn hole, a fire pit, and a historic marquee tent with family games. The Plucky Peacock is a new farm stand and country store from which our friendly Director of Recreation works to assist you in taking advantage of all our amenities. Television celebrity host Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters also built a lovely recreational treehouse inside Candlelight Forest about 10 years ago, before he was famous! Guests have full access to their private Treehouse and all of Candlelight Forest, close to 200 acres of preserve including two small mountain lakes, a creek and many trails and amenities. We believe we have carved out a unique niche in the getaway/resort venue industry. We have a devoted team that wants to ensure you have an amazing time at Candlelight Forest, recreating and relaxing yourselves in a world that hearkens back to a simpler time. These accommodations are perfectly located to take in Chattanooga and the many surrounding attractions that abound nearby, including Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and The Chickamauga National Battlefield Park, all about 20 minutes away. Our staff is very eager to help you with ideas outside the gate including great eateries in Chattanooga as well as in the Valley and along Lookout Mountain. "Boynton Abbey" - Beautifully renovated farmhouse

This charming, completely renovated farmhouse built in 1900 in Ringgold, Georgia, is about 20 mins. from downtown Chattanooga. This home and barn, the "Old Buff Home-place," has been renovated to modern luxury. The location provides easy access to airport, scenic outdoor activities, art and culture, Lookout Mountain, and historic Chickamauga Battlefield. Downtown Chattanooga boasts many wonderful activities, shops, and restaurants. In addition, there are many restaurants nearby this home.

Quiet country get away in beautiful McLemore Cove Historic District. Country roads leads you to this comfortable one bedroom that sleeps four. Relax 20 minutes from town in any direction. Located between Pigeon Mountain and Lookout Mountain in north Georgia. The cottage offers full amenities and full kitchen. NO PETS PLEASE! I have a dog that shares the yards. This cottage is in the country! 2 lane curvy hilly roads. Mountain roads nearby. I can't do anything about the roads out here.

The Wool Attic at Summer Fields

This farm stay is in half of a renovated garage on our working sheep farm. Enjoy the sheep, livestock guardian dogs, and slower pace, while still being close to area attractions. It has an open downstairs with a full kitchen, bathroom, dining area, pool table, and porch. Sleeping areas, upstairs in the attic, or in our sleeping loft are too short for standing but otherwise cozy for sleeping. Farm workers will be doing chores and interacting with the animals during your stay.

Fannie's Place

This tiny home is on the historic home site of Fannie Mennen and the Plum Nelly Clothesline Art Show. She even named the road. The home is brand new, artfully decorated and has 1 double bed, 1 bath, a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds, and a queen sleeper sofa. The view is from 2000 ft elevation and looks into the valley and across to the mountain again. There is civil war history on the property. There is a 100 ft drop so guests are asked to not stay here with young children.

City Cottage on Main Street In North GA

Beautiful and original home built in 1929. Located on historic Main Street. Fully outfitted kitchen with gas stove and dishwasher. Fast internet and big screen TV w/soundbar, mean no sacrifices.
