What is the Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant?
The aim of the Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant program is to provide accommodations support to eligible athletes selected by the IOC. Accommodations support will be provided in the form of a USD $2,000 promotional credit (Athlete Travel Support Credit) from Airbnb which can be applied towards Airbnb stays.

What can I use the Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant for? 
The Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant can be applied toward booking accommodations and/or Experiences globally. Bookings are made on the Airbnb platform via Airbnb.com or the Airbnb mobile app. The Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant is not redeemable for cash or previous purchases and is non-transferable.  

How will recipients be selected to receive the Athlete Travel Support Credit?
Each year, members of the International Olympic Committee will select up to 500 recipients based on the personal statement provided in each individual’s application as well as other criteria set forth in the Terms that reflect the aim of the program to support elite athletes in need. Applicants’ geographic locations and the sports they compete in will also be considered to ensure diversity across the pool of recipients.

How will I be notified if I am selected to receive the Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant?
Selected athletes will be notified with an email from Airbnb with a link to accept their promotional credit within 8 weeks of the application close date.

How can I apply my Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant to a reservation?
Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to a reservation when you are ready to book. If you do not want to use your credit for that booking, you may remove the credit at checkout and elect to apply it to a later booking.

Can I use the Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant in separate installments?
You cannot select how much of your Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant to apply towards a stay or Experience. However, if your stay or Experience costs less than USD $2,000, you can use the remaining amount towards a future stay or Experience. 

I don’t have an Airbnb account; can I transfer my Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant to someone else?
No, your Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant is non-transferable. 

When does the Athlete Travel Support Grant expire?
The promotional credit will expire 12 months after the email invitation for the credit is sent.

Do I need an Airbnb account to claim my Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant?
Yes, an Airbnb account is needed to claim your Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant. However, you can sign up for an Airbnb account for free.

I am a wheelchair user. Are there accommodations that I can use or an Experience that I can do?
Yes! When searching for accommodations, you can use Airbnb’s search filters to exclusively view properties with wheelchair-friendly features, including “step-free” entryways and passages, wide doorways, bathroom bars and chairs, and more. All property accessibility information is provided by the Airbnb Host and reviewed by Airbnb. When searching for an Experience to try, you can similarly select filters to show only Experiences with no stairs or steps, mainly level ground, accessible parking and more.
