The Gateway-Getaway is only about three miles from Mount Desert Island (MDI) where you will find Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor. The apartment is perfect for 1-2 people. You will stay in an efficiency apartment above our detached garage. Which is in a quiet location (although occasionally our dogs bark when outside). Outside table and chairs surrounded by trees, birds and gardens in a quiet, safe neighborhood at the end of a short dirt road. Enjoy total privacy or ask your hosts for local knowledge. All one room, with kitchenette, queen bed, futon couch, and fold out single bed.

Walk to the Causeway via the Grover Path in 15 minutes. 5-minute walk to the Cadillac South Ridge Trail. Large high-ceiling studio with private parking and entrance with beautiful sheltered second-story deck. We are on the Blackwoods/Bar Harbor bus route so you can catch the free Island Explorer LL Bean buses to Bar Harbor and back.

The apartment offers a private entrance, small balcony overlooking our garden, free off street parking, a full bath, plenty of closet space all in a peaceful inviting, quiet, and roomy studio. Walking distance to all that Bangor has to offer including Waterfront Pavilion, Stephen King's house, wonderful pubs and restaurants.

We would want you to know that we may be up early mornings along with the chickens so early risers would do best here.
