A stunning set of 18th century chateau doors divide the living and bedrooms and provide the 'wow factor' of this charming find. The living room with its linen covered antique chesterfield sofa, large format art books, 42" Smart HD TV with Freeview, DVD player, Bose Bluetooth sound system is perfect for a cosy night in. Wet-room style bathroom with walk-in shower, heated towel rail, underfloor heating and plenty of white fluffy towels (shower gel and shampoo etc.) The kitchen - reclaimed slate work-tops, Victorian tiled floor. The apartment is within our family house but completely private with its own entrance. Your hosts are on hand, though, for advice on local attractions, restaurants and places to visit for day trips. 'Atelier 22 York' is situated in York's 'Cultural Quarter', a few minutes walk from the Yorkshire Museum, the Theatre Royal, York Art Gallery and the Minster. The city's top eateries are a stone's throw away : Roots, The Star Inn The City, Betty's, Skosh, Partisan, Le Cochon Aveugle, as well as numerous pubs and bars; a gentle stroll back home at night. The beautifully restored medieval buildings of Stonegate and the Shambles provide the perfect setting for some last minute shopping. York's many attractions, including The Minster, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, Treasures House, Fairfax House, Castle Museum, National Railway Museum, City Walls, Theatre Royal, City Screen Cinema, Betty's famous Tea Rooms are all 5-10 minutes walk away as well as beautiful riverside walks and restaurants, pubs and bars too numerous to mention. My flat is a bright, colourful, homely space, with four main rooms, divided by both an entrance hall and corridor, and comprises a small, south-facing rear garden. Each room has been tastefully decorated (by me and mi Mum) over the last ten years, and offers a relaxing yet purposeful base, from which to explore the historical city of York and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
