Forest Floor Guesthouse

The lower level of our Jewel Lake Home with a separate entry, and fun backyard. This is a recent remodel; an eclectic space with vintage wood ceilings and a blend of industrial+ modern detailing. We are 5 minute drive from the airport, and guests can enjoy Alaskan wilderness right from this space. A forested trail system lies right behind our house for walking and biking. Guests may collect eggs from our chickens, use our forest-side hot tub, stoke the firepit, or use paddle boards at Sand Lake.

We aim for you to feel as though you’re visiting family. The property features a spacious yard with a swing set & sandbox for kids. Pat may greet you on arrival & is always happy to share his love of Alaska & local insights. Guests enjoy fast Wi-Fi, convenient laundry access, & the chance to see local wildlife right outside the back door — moose (often with calves), ravens, Steller’s jays, squirrels, & on rare occasions, a bear. Minutes from the Anchorage airport or Kincaid Park, this 2 bedroom unit sits in the heart of Sand Lake. Just a 5 minute walk to fishing and under 10 minutes to the Anc airport and Kincaid Park. Each bedroom has its own smart tv and queen size bed. There is no cable tv only streaming. The kitchenette is fully stocked with a toaster oven, microwave and hot plate for heating meals. Coffee is included with all the fixings. Local restaurants and a grocery store are minutes away on Jewel Lake Rd.

Behind your interior “front door” is your Queen bed; TV room; kitchenette; and bathroom with tiled walk-in shower and the best backside feature ever: heated bidet toilet. I live and work upstairs. There's plenty of space for all.
