In the Hyde Park area, Julio's Cafe is a slightly more upscale alternative to Tamale House or Tyson's. One of the few good breakfast taco places open on Sundays, and still under $7 per plate.

Juan in a Million is further afield, but absolutely worth the trip. On Austin's east side, you'll see some of the city's older neighborhoods, and the food is plentiful and dripping with cheese.

The original location of Austin's classic brunch diner, which now has locations all around town. I recommend the Crispy Chicken Benedict - eggs benedict atop friend chicken and a biscuit. The best.

Another Hyde Park fixture, Quack's has great coffee and even better baked goods. If you like pastries or pies, you can't miss Quack's. Julio's and Quack's are both walkable from my place.
