The Hide - off-grid-ish woodland cabin near NC500

The Hide is a super get-away for anyone travelling around Scotland on the NC500 or on your own adventure looking for a unique stay. Almost off-grid, it has a comfy bed, central woodburner and spectacular view. It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! Mid Nov - Mar we have a winter mode as the water can freeze.

Ethel's Cottage: Idyllic Riverside 1 Bed Cottage

The recently refurbished and modernised Ethel's Cottage is in an idyllic location, flanked by two rivers. This gate lodge cottage offers the perfect place to stay for a few nights or longer! Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity. Modern appliances and comfortable furnishings, the cottage has everything you will need for a relaxing break.

Cosy croft cottage on NC500, Sutherland

Croft cottage, 334 Kinnauld, refurbished in 2021 is situated in the heart of the Highlands, a 5 minute drive from A9 and North Coast 500 route. 50 miles north of the Highland capital Inverness and a 15-minute drive to Dornoch. The perfect stop for those interested in walking, cycling or wildlife. This quiet and tranquil cottage is surrounded by magnificent scenery and wide-open spaces. In Sutherland you can enjoy fantastic beaches, distilleries, castles, golf courses, and much more.

The Steading, Melvich

This converted building in the picturesque village of Melvich has been recently renovated and has amazing sea views including the Orkney islands! Offering WiFi, television, and off-road parking for one car. Also, with the new addition of a woodburning stove, you will certainly not be cold! Ideally situated for exploring the north of Sutherland and Caithness, this area is popular for walking, fishing, surfing, golfing and has one of the most beautiful beaches in the area!

The Kylesku Kabin- luxurious wilderness

A luxuriously appointed property situated on the NC500 overlooking some of the most iconic mountains and sea lochs of Assynt. Kylesku Kabin has been fully renovated by acclaimed architect Helen Lucas and is owned by the previous owners of the nationally recognised multi-award winning Kylesku Hotel, which is within walking distance. The property features a luxurious spa bathroom, including steam room and inspirational open plan living space, designer kitchen and garden.

The Coach House at Manse House

Make some memories at this unique and friendly place. Originally the Coach House of the 18th century listed Manse House, the property was sympathetically converted in 2004. The property lies in the gardens of the Manse in central Tain. It has great access to the main visitor attractions of the Eastern Highlands and makes a great place to relax or to use as a comfortable spot from which to explore the Highlands. Pets are welcome. Croft View

Fully equipped accommodation with two bedrooms (one double room, one twin room). Melvich is situated on the NC500 route and is ideally placed for exploring the local area. Local pub within walking distance serving evening meals. Booking is advised. Free Wifi available, however we cannot guarantee a reliable signal. Lovely beach nearby which is popular with surfers. Please note due to increased costs, guest now have to pay for the electric they use.

Geordie’s Byre - cosy, quirky NC500 stay.

Nestled within the rugged beauty and hills just off the main A836 (NC500). Geordie’s Byre has a natural charm. Bijou ensuite accommodation with No TV! just peace and quiet, somewhere to put your head down! Ideal for an overnight stay. Situated in the village of Bettyhill in the Scottish Highlands, it boasts views across to Farr Bay and the Atlantic. Easy access to popular spots for cyclists, walkers, surfers, bikers, car enthusiasts and nature lovers.

The Byre - stone studio space, Talmine NC500/Beach

The Byre is a unique studio converted from a barn and is perfect for a peaceful break or romantic getaway! A comfortable hotel quality double mattress in self catering accommodation with stunning views of the sea and islands and within easy walk of a shop and beaches. A small but well equipped kitchenette with microwave, induction hob and small oven. Plenty of hot water for showering. A woodburner and 2 heaters. Great location as a base to explore.

My chalets are on land surrounded by trees, wild flowers, and wildlife. A 5min walk into the town centre and under 15min walk to the beach. The train station is also only 5mins away. If you are driving then this is the perfect spot for Dunnet head, the most northerly point of the UK, puffin cove, a beautiful isolated spot to sit by the sea and watch the birds, the historic town of wick, and of course Jon o groats. Thurso is on the NC500.

Welcome to my 17th-century original working croft cottage. Set in the stunning Highlands, directly on the NC500 in the small rural village of Melvich. Just a short walk from Melvich beach great for swimming, fishing, surfing, or just a gentle stroll along the beach, a truly beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The cottage whilst boasting all modern amenities still keeps a lot of its original features.

The cottage consists of a kitchen/ livingroom on the ground floor with a double bedroom and separate bathroom (shower only) up stairs. Access by spiral stairs.
