The Santa Fe Depot Room - The Shady Lady Bed & Breakfast

The Santa Fe route went through Gainesville and made our town a bustling hub of commerce. The original depot housed a Harvey House and today its a museum for visitors going from Fort Worth to Oklahoma City. Our citizens rallied together to restore the depot to its former grandeur. Our room honors its legacy with original colors of the Santa Fe line, an antique claw foot tub for a relaxing soak. There is also a decorative fireplace, while lovely, current insurance restrictions prohibit its use.

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. We know you will feel right at home. You will be staying in a private room in our home. You will have a semi-private bathroom. We would love to interact with you while you’re here, if you choose to, or will respect your privacy if you prefer to keep to yourself. The pool is open seasonally. You can expect an elevated continental breakfast each morning. If you happen to be with us on a Monday, feel free to join our bible study group.

Take it easy at this unique beautifully decorated getaway. European Country design feels like homes found in France and Italy. Located in Weston, Texas oldest town in Collin County. Close to Downtown McKinney, Celina, Anna and Van Alstyne. Welcome snack, and light breakfast will be served. Microwave, Nespresso coffee machine with coffee, small fridge with water are located in common area. Rooms have Stearn and Foster mattresses, Italian linens, robes and blow dryers are provided.

This was Sarah’s room, the original Madam in the 1880’s when the building housed the Grand Central Saloon and brothel. Guests enjoy its luxurious setting with rich fabrics, sitting room and a jacuzzi tub. There is also a decorative fireplace, although lovely, current insurance restrictions prohibit its use.

Gainesville is known for its abundance of beautiful historic homes and lovely gardens, many restored to their original splendor. This room celebrates that past with light and airy colors and décor reminiscent of a garden in bloom. The bathroom features an antique claw foot tub and shower.

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. The Lubbock room is a ground-level room in our newly constructed Red Oak Lodge at our 24 acre retreat and event center. King bed, private bathroom. Breakfast included.
