The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

The Shelter

With wooden interior and carpeted floors with free standing fireplace, our accomodation is both spacious yet cosy. The master bedroom has a cabin feel to it with a comfy bed and views out onto farmland. The Loft is a spacious cosy area with low ceilings which the teenagers will love but tall people may not enjoy it as it's only about 1.75 cm at the highest point . large couches for watching netflix or relaxing on the deck. we are not set up for young children and think it's best suited to 8+ age

Haven on York is an off grid rural escape which offers a unique experience. It is set in a peaceful, country landscape with an ever-changing vista of our beautiful maunga. Relaxing and unwinding in our outdoor stone bath is certainly rejuvenating, or if nature is your thing, you can take a 4.8km hike around the historic York Road Loop Track, only a few minutes drive up the road. Mill House - Villa on Forgotten World Highway

Their endeavors included the construction of a tunnel, in 1924, at the rear of the property to provide access to timber on the Whangamomona Saddle where it still remains today. Stratford is 40 minutes from New Plymouth and 30 minutes from Hawera. It is the closest town to Taranaki Maunga.
