Kerry’s garden cabin

Welcome to my cabin, set in the garden. Access to the cabin is through the side gate into the garden. Sleeps 2 on a double bed. Attached to my house, separate from the cabin but immediately in front of, is the exclusive use of your own downstairs shower room/toilet & kitchen area. Cabin is also a games room so guests have use of table tennis, football table, dart board and games. Just updated (May 2026)- new 65” smart TV. Portable AIRCON unit. Parking is in the road just outside the house.

Guests will have access to the well known Green Island Gardens and Colchester is only a 5 minute drive away.

The perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The last in a row of westerly facing cottages, perfect to watch the evening sun go down . From the front garden or even laying in bed, watch the tide slip in and out, the fishing boats come and go and live, for a while, in a world moving at a slower pace.

It is just a short walk to the University of Essex via Wivenhoe Public pathway. The the train station is also only 15 minute walk away through the Wivenhoe trail. Ideal for 1-2 guests, but a baby or small chid is welcome (providing that you bring your own travel cot & bedding with you).

Its thick brick walls and quiet and pretty disposition, defy its former role as a working yard where timber yachts were crafted and repaired, drawn up inside at high tide. very central location, self-contained flat within a large apartment in a converted school. entrance is initially into main residence. one double bedroom, room for single guest on mezzanine above kitchen/diner, walk-in shower. mezzanines are accessed by steep unguarded stairs and therefore this flat is not suitable for young children. listed price is for two guests. if second (single) bed is needed there is an additional charge.
