The Tower, Thornton Castle

The Castle Byre

The 'Byre' is a luxury self catering cottage within a former barn at historic Parkhead Farm. It sits just 200m from the ruins of Auchindoun Castle and has unsurpassed views to the castle on the hill. Being of contemporary open plan design, it retains the traditional look of the original barn interior with large exposed roof trusses and natural stonework. Our local pub is a mile away. The nearest town, Alford, has a pub, restaurant, shops, supermarket, parks and museums.
