We’d love for your happy beach memories to be made here at our cottage by the sea, The Whimsy Whale. Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, about 300 steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to attractions in Southport. It is one of our favorite places to spend time together and we look forward to sharing it with you, your loved ones and friends.

Charming Beach Bungalow (9-min walk to the Beach!)

Newly renovated, refreshingly colorful, and fully stocked with everything you need for a rejuvenating stay at the beach. Lounge on comfy furniture, stream your favorite shows on large smart TVs, and unwind in a rocker on the brand-new screened-in porch. The spacious kitchen is equipped with new appliances, granite countertops, and all the essentials to enjoy a home-cooked meal with your crew. The home is located in the prime of the island just a 9-minute walk to an absolutely beautiful beach.

House of Zen-Fenced/Bikes/Firepit/Outdoor shower!

The House of Zen is a charming beach cottage located minutes from the Oak Island's Beaches. Relax by the outdoor fire pit in a FENCED backyard that is great for your children and pets! The beach access is an easy drive, walk, or bike ride. We have bikes, beach chairs, lawn games, and a buggy to make the trip down to the beach easier or visit close parks and restaurants. The detached building, Zen Den, has a bedroom set up and an office for those who need a remote workplace for a longer stay!

Southport's Canary Cottage

Southport's Canary Cottage is a newly renovated southern, cottage located in a small, historic town along the Cape Fear River! Canary Cottage is located 1 mile from Southport, 2 minutes from the ferry's at Deep Point Marina & 20 minutes to the Oak Island beaches! Welcome to "5 More Minutes" beach house located near the ICW and Wooded section of Oak Island, NC. This open-floor plan home on pilings is on the island's west side and features a three-bedroom (three-bath)/two-full-bathroom configuration. Oak Island beaches are a short one-mile walk or drive away. We offer a 6-seater electric golf cart with a pre-paid parking pass to rent by the day. You must be over 21 to operate it. The golf cart rental fee is handled separately from the house rental.

Adorable remodeled cottage in downtown Southport. Walking distance to waterfront, restaurants, bars, quaint shops and parks for the kids. Enjoy strolls through town or walks to the waterfront or minutes drive from oak island for a sandy beach afternoon. Also minutes away from Southport car ferry for a great day trip to Fort Fisher Aquirium and state park or catch the ferry to bald head and ride bikes or rent a golf cart for the day of discovery, golfing or beaches.

Take a break and unwind at turtle time. The apartment is a 5-minute walk to the beach access at the end of the street, with no busy streets to cross. Approximately a 0.5-mile walk from the Oak Island Pier and within walking distance to a few restaurants. Relax in the hot tub or dine outside on the patio. This cozy one-bedroom one-bathroom apartment is the perfect size for a couple's getaway. We allow dogs with prior approval upon booking request for an additional fee.

Dog friendly, recently renovated 2 bedroom home (~900 sq ft) - on Oak Island. ~ 0.3 mile to beach. Within walking distance to Publix, donut shop, Middleton Park , tennis courts and eateries. Includes large fenced in yard for fun with family and pet(s) along with outdoor shower. TVs (WiFi w/you tube tv) in living room and both bedrooms . No smoking on premises. Come enjoy the dog days of summer (or any season)! (House is on pilings so must be able to climb stairs)
