The Old Spa Rooms at Church Cottage

Church Cottage lies in 2 acres of landscaped gardens in the beautiful village of Escrick, 6 miles from the centre of York. The building dates back to 1850 and is also home to an award-winning Thai restaurant The Old Spa Rooms are situated on the first floor and are self-contained and not shared. This spacious apartment has a bright and airy sitting/dining room with solid bamboo floors and lovely garden views. There's also a separate kitchen, luxury bathroom and large double/twin bedroom.

The cottage is a Grade II listed barn conversion offering a welcoming base for your stay. Heating is provided by a biomass boiler, so very eco friendly. There is also a wood burning stove to keep you cosy. We are in a quiet village called East Cottingwith: a fantastic base for visiting York and touring Yorkshire. Ideal for cyclists, bird watchers, walkers and anyone who wishes to enjoy a rural location close to the attractions of the city of York. There is no regular public transport.

Gingerbread cottage is a lovely spacious home from home with a ground floor en-suite bedroom and 2 first floor bedrooms and an upstairs bathroom. Approx 4 miles from York city centre and 1.5 miles from York racecourse. Free on street parking outside the cottage. It’s the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire dales, Skipton and Ilkley or taking in the beautiful Yorkshire coastal towns of Whitby,Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and lovely market towns of Helmsley, Malton.
