Just outside the Lake District National Park but within a 30 minute drive of Keswick you get the best of both worlds of exploring the attractions of the Northen Lake District and the Solway Coast with its quaint seaside towns. Watchhall Annexe is a recently converted barn, situated on the edge of the Royal Burgh Town of Annan. Attached to Watchhall House, it overlooks the Solway Firth and has views of the Lake District hills. It is within a 10-minute drive of the M6/M74 corridor on the Scottish-England border at Gretna. The area boasts lots of lovely places to eat and relax. Ideal for walking and cycling. Gretna Gateway Outlet Village and famous wedding venue is just a 10-minute drive away.

Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.

Orchard Cottage was originally an 18th century 'Solway Plain clay dabbin' farmer's cottage (named after the fruit trees that are still in the garden), now fully restored with many of its original features. It is a perfect cosy getaway for those wanting to explore the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall and other highlights of this beautiful county. It is a great base to sample the many delights Cumbria has to offer.

Our couples pod is a perfect base to explore and recharge. This camping pod sleeps 2 people comfortably and is pet friendly. Based on our working farm with panoramic views of local fells and Skiddaw from its own private decking. Free parking is right next to the pod.
