Your private bathroom is immersed in a luxurious environment with hydromassage shower and seat and is part of the same. You can see the wall of the bathroom, in the pictures of the entrance to the room, where on the left there is a pink wall with a liberty round glass panel, beyond which there is the shower and sink, while the access door The bathroom is in crystal and is located in front of the main entrance door.
The pink color of the entrance is a continium with the pink wall of the room and interrupted by the glass door. This wall is oblique, not orthogonal and instead forms an angle of 30 degrees and not 90 degrees, acts as a telescope and partition and does not allow visibility in the kitchen, a threshold of division between entrance and kitchen, and the dividing panels make it even more more your room-bathroom space independent of the apartment, the crystal door of the bathroom is immediately adjacent to the bedroom door, as photos.
Modern and well-furnished Schiffini' kitchen with induction fires, espresso machine, kettle, toaster, microwave oven, electric oven, refrigerator, citrus juicer, food processor, immersion blender.
Marble, oak parquet, antique Florentine craftsmanship, high nineteenth-century cilingse make this environment unique, charming decorations and antique furniture with authentic works of the century. XVIII
Only 15 minutes to Piazza San marco where there is the David and Only 25 minutes walk to the Duomo walking, 5 minutes by bus to Piazza San Marco.
Your double room can accommodate a maximum of three people, there is a king-size bed very comfortable due to the topper 12 positions.
It can be added a single japanese bed but it will reduce the volume of the room, the single Japanese bed will only be for bookings of three people or on request for separate beds.
The room looks on the public street but is equipped with soundproofed glass and gaskets for thermal insulation, a king-size bed, orthopedic mattress and memory foam topper and mirrored furniture as photos.
The apartment has no steps inside and has a 'large entrance, is composed: as you enter on the right is the double room with adjoining private bathroom, in front of you the private bathroom that has a sliding glass door and continues in room, left an open-space with kitchen, living room and sitting rooms, two doors at the end of which the one in red iron opens a studio in which I live that has a private bathroom inside, the other opens to a garden with terrace where it is possible to smoke, each room has its own private bathroom.
Your double bedroom has five large walls 40 cm thick. in stone and the access door has the lock and the key, a telescope from which to admire the whole environment and that makes it private and independent.
The walls of the private bathroom enter one side in your room and on the other side are adjacent to the kitchen.
The apartment has two bedrooms separated by the central solon or open-space, the two bedroom are the private double room and the private studio where I usually live.
The apartment has been finely designed with the help of architect Anna Grande and Teresa, two of my dear friends in 2014.
The walls of the bathroom are adjacent to one side of the kitchen and to the other side to the bedroom. The private bathroom, before the renovation was a wardrobes and a study that was in front of the entrance door, this room has been enlarged thanks to the knocking down of the wall that borders the room, first crying a large opening in the room, and then hinged the wall for static reasons and building around 3 walls that enclose it and divide it from the room, just like a box resting on the wall of the room.
All the structure has completely stone walls that rest on the walls of the cellar and are about 40cm thick, preventing noise from the outside. The access door to the bathroom is just outside the room because there was not enough space to put a sliding door in the room. You can see all this in the picture of the plan of the apartment shown in yellow.
In fact, the structure maintains the internal temperature well thanks to the large stone walls and the windows with thermal insulation and the mosquito nets necessary in Florence.
The oblique pink wall was created for a scenographic and at the same time technical trick because the double bedroom door was not in symmetry and in front of the study door.
the red iron door and sanded glass leads to my completely open studio-studio, where I live and is completely independent with study and private bathroom.
The structure maintains the internal temperature well thanks to the large stone walls and the windows with thermal insulation and the mosquito nets necessary in Florence.
- Portable air conditioning in the double room and studio wall, programmable autonomous heating, according to the latest criteria and technological safety standards and means that if the ax temperature is programmed, the system switches off when the x temperature is reached and is switched on again from only when the temperature drops in the indoor environment.
The furnishings and works of art come from a 'excursus' of a Tuscan villa of the' 500, restored by a restorer of the 'Uffizi' that complete the interior and exterior with a decidedly contemporary taste.
- In the garden there is a pergola and a tavern where you can spend pleasant evenings in the open air and a smoking area.
-The kitchen is a 'Schiffini' with minimalist and linear Italian design, where in the longitudinal wall are the induction fires that work on electricity and therefore, safer than gas, a large tub instead of the sink, large drawers for crockery , dish drainer, hood and radiators that are mini sculptures.
-The studio-studio where I live and work is in a separate position and is located after the salon and is differentiated as an alternative and rustic environment.
It finds in 'Le Cure', next Viale Alessandro Volta, just to the north of the old town and with possibility of parking. Porta S. Gallo in Piazza della Libertà is, in fact, the door leading from the center to the neighborhood of the Cure.
It is a very quiet residential area and where the municipal infrastructure plan maintained, only in this area, the possibility to park within the lines defined by the same.
It has an high urban quality, one of the most elegant, surrounded by green gardens of villas and avenues and many shops and supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, natural ice cream self-made production, restaurants, pizzerias.
Typical is the market of the Cure of fresh fruits and vegetables from the countryside,
Do not forget to try the tripe sandwich (panino al (URL HIDDEN) , maybe you eat it going to the center, walking through the famous underpass for graffiti and the 'Street's Art', not to be missed.
Just a few steps from nearby Piazza della Libertà is the Horticultural Garden and the Museum Stibbert and continuing northward, Badia Fiesolana, S. Domenico, Villa il Ventaglio and Fiesole. Sights include the seventeenth-century garden of Villa Il Ventaglio, with lake and small bridge to soak in peaceful walks.
The neighborhood is in fact close to the green lung of the nineteenth-century avenues that were used to connect the whole city, modeled in Paris and Vienna.
In Viale Don Minzoni is also the 'Auditorium Stensen' with special film screenings, bookstore with coffee, to enjoy drinks while you are engrossed in a good book or enjoying a show of experimental theater, and here you will also find Esselunga one of the largest supermarkets, in Via Masaccio and supermarket of Nature Si.
In the end of Orticoltura Garden, near Piazza della Libertà, you can touch with hand the part of the city of the river Arno where the Romans established for the first time and drew the first lines of the thistle and decumanus underpinning the city, on the model of the city of his predecessors greek people who founded the city of Fiesole (10 minutes by bus from here).
From Viale Volta, by car or by bus, you can go to Fiesole, an archaeological heritage, UNESCO, the Medici villas and gardens, restaurants and pizzerias and local products.
in the nineteenth century, the architect Giuseppe Poggi, when Florence was the capital (1860), destroyed the fifth set of walls to make way for an artery junction, near the ancient city, for the transit of the carriages, now become uncomfortable with the advent of cars.
He maintained, however, the entrance gates to the city of the ancient walls, which bulwark and memory of great monuments. So sewed the fabric of the old town with the barrier through the suburban streets, including Viale Don Minzoni, Viale dei Mille and Via Alessandro Volta from Piazza della Libertà lead to the Cure and Fiesole.
In the southern side, however, the paths merge with the Florentine hills and uniqueness of Arcetri.
Piazzale Michelangelo (10 minutes by bus from here) is the culmination and crowning of union between the two sides, in memory of Michelangelo Buonarroti who designed the fortress and the ramparts surrounding the church and convent of San Miniato al Monte, the highest point, near the center and the Pitti Palace from where you can admire a breathtaking view of all the major monuments and bridges immersed in the green waters of the river Arno. As you get off you will find a beach with deck chairs, bars and local as 'the Rifrullo'.
In Fiesole, Via S. Giuseppe you can admire a magnificent view of the entire city, if you want to have a bird's-eye view of the city of Florence, the picturesque and romantic, especially in the night.
I suggest suggestive places to visit and for eating florentine steak.
The first insiedament, in Florence, coincides with the hill of Fiesole, an etruscan acropolis.
From S. Giuseppe street you can admire a beatifull view of whole Florence, it's suggestive and romantic, expecially by night. In the night of New Year and in San Giovanni's night you will look at all illuminated Florence by fireworks.
An other important point of view is Piazzale Michelangelo and here you will admire the wonderfull scenary with the river Arno and the most important monuments with a closer look (here is the 'Davide', but it is a copy, the original is in Accademy). In up there is the quiet and ancient church of San Miniato al Monte, down are the roses and japanese gardens and the walk to Palazzo Pitti and Giardino di Boboli.
In the hystorical center you can visit Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Campanile di Giotto, Battistero of S. Giovanni, Accademia di S. Marco which preserves the original 'David' of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio with Salone dei Cinquecento and tower di Arnolfo di Cambio, the Loggia of Lanzi, Gallery of Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Leonardo Museum, Orsanmichele Church, Basilica di S. Trinita, Santa Maria del Carmine Church, S. Spirito Church, Santa Maria Novella Church, Spedale degli Innocenti, Museum of Bargello, Santa Croce Church, Rotonda degli Angeli, Ancient florentine towers, Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, Palazzo Strozzi and other Renaissance Palaces, Dante's House, Michelangelo Buonarroti's house, Palazzo Pitti and its museums and Giardino di Boboli, Fortezza da Basso for fashion fair, Parterre in Piazza della Libertà for craft fair, the New theatre in the gardens of Cascine and near 'la Leopolda', by tram.
EVENTS IN DECEMBER
Remember that Florence is an open-air museum, and if you walk through the historic center of the city, enjoying the wonders it offers, it is a show that deserves throughout the year, imagine what Florence can be like in this period!
The Christmas atmosphere in Florence is announced with a warm and full of lights, in Piazza del Duomo you can admire a huge Christmas tree
as well as a real 'capannuccia'.
The nativity scene will be set up in Piazza del Duomo, on the parvis of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and the Nativity of Santa Maria del Fiore will be set up at the same time. Here is reproduced the Nativity with beautiful handmade terracotta statues of the Impruneta.
Both the Christmas tree and the Nativity scene are dismantled after January 6, the day of the Epiphany.
The shop windows will have very creative museum decorations, inspired by the theme of Christmas and will always be open until Christmas.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS AND SHOPPING
In the weeks before Christmas in Florence, as well as in the surrounding area, Christmas markets are set up, more or less characteristic, where you can find small gifts of various kinds, from objects to food and wine.
The largest Christmas market is undoubtedly that hosted in Piazza Santa Croce, which lasts approximately from the end of November to the 20th of December. It is inspired by the German markets, with typical wooden houses, and offers articles of different types from crafts to gastronomic products, small furniture and Christmas decorations. There are foreign exhibitors, but also Italian.
In 2017 the Christmas market will be from November 29th to December 21st.
But you will find small Christmas markets also in the different neighborhoods of the historic center, some beneficial, organized mainly at weekends.
Who prefers to get out of the city, will find in the major Fiesole, in the villages of Mugello and Chianti.
In December and January, which are certainly among the coldest months in Florence, spaces are set up where they can challenge themselves in typically winter sports.
At the Parterre (Piazza della Libertà area), nearby, an ice rink has been opened for several years, with skating hire.
Here is an itinerary that we suggest you follow: start from Piazza San Lorenzo, then go towards Piazza del Duomo, continue along Via Calzaiuoli up to Piazza della Signoria. Continue to the Arno passing under the Uffizi Gallery to reach the Ponte Vecchio from where you can admire the Arno and reach Palazzo Pitti. If you still have energy, I suggest you climb to Piazzale Michelangelo where the Church of San Miniato al Monte will also be open.
