A nice destination for day out. Visit the catherdral, shopping and Pallant house. It's also on the way to West wittering and other tucked away seaside villages

You can walk easily in to the city. Turn right out of the property and then left in to Fishbourne Road East. At the end walk over the railway bridge and turn right keeping the school on your left. Go straight over the roundabout ahead and follow Westgate all the way in to the city. The cathedral, the market cross, the Novium Museum and the shopping are all wonderful and there are many restaurants including a brand new Ivy Brasserie.

Chicester is a really historic place to visit. The 600 year old spire of Chicesrer Cathedral rising above the peaceful streets below, can be seen from miles out at sea. Head inside to see the striking arches and stained glass windows – or join a guided tour for the full insight into this stunning construction. Historic Chichester is brought to life at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, this 40 acre site allows you to get up close and personal to history, whether you explore the milling of grain for flour in the watermill, the production of bricks at the brick drying shed or bread from the bakehouse. Take a stroll along the peaceful Chichester Canal, linking the city to the sea. Head onto the canal in a rowing boat, or have a go at Stand Up Paddle Boarding on the calm waters, fantastic for beginners or take a boat trip (available February to November).
