Great hiking, camping, swimming and historic location where the last wolf in CT was killed by General Israel Putnam, very nearby. The hike to the Wolf Den is a short walk, quite rocky, but an easy hike for children from the entrance and a historic location - highly recommended. The Indian Chair is a little further, for the more ambitious.
About 15 minutes away. Great place to stroll or go hiking. Notable features of the park include the Wolf Den national historic site, the Brayton Grist Mill, and the Table Rock and Indian Chair natural stone formations. The state park offers facilities for camping, swimming, fishing, and picnicking.Location: 147 Wolf Den Drive, Pomfret CT Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a publicly owned recreation area in the town of Pomfret in Windham County, Connecticut.
