A chill spot to pull up and park, share snacks and watch planes taking off and landing at National Airport. Or rent from the Capitol Bikeshare and ride out the trail. If sweating isn't your thing, have a picnic by the water.

Gravelly Point is more of a locals thing but its worth a mention. Its a park right along the Potomac River just north of Reagan National Airport. Its a fun place to have a watch the planes take off and land. Folks usually bring a blanket (and maybe a picnic) and watch as the planes fly a few hundred feet directly overhead.

A nice park just across the river from where planes take off from DCA. Beautiful bike trails to get into the park and then you can see the planes leaving the runway.

Gravelly Point Park is a great place to see the airplanes fly in right over you going to DCA (Reagan) airport. You can bike/run there from the Mount Vernon trail, or you can drive there. Some people also bring a picnic lunch and watch the airplanes go by.
