From beer and cider to vodka and gin, Bornholm is booming with micro-distilleries making high-quality, small-batch spirits. Nord Snaps by Rie Uldahl in eastern Svaneke is one of them, and owner Rie puts a more sophisticated spin on the traditionally low-brow Danish snaps by using foraged ingredients such as blackberry and beech leaves. A few doors down is wine shop and bar-restaurant Vinøst, now in its third year, which has the most extensive collection of natural wines on the island.
