Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Morning to Evening SUN SPOT on the PEACEFUL Secluded Garden + Patio, OVERLOOKING the NATURAL WATERFALL STREAM, WILDLIFE & often our SHEEP. Lovely 3 bedroom Cottage in Aikton Cumbria.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay just on the outskirts of Lake District. With 3 well sized bedroom and gym equipment available. Separate dinning room straight off the kitchen. *Due to the nature and the age of the building, please be aware that there is a steep set of stairs to the bedrooms.* We also provide instructor lead Clay Pigeon shooting sessions on the farm to our guests to make their stay that bit more unique. ( Pre booking required)- Dogs welcome on request.

Comfortable, peaceful cottage

Well equipped cottage. Comfortable, private, peaceful. There's a very comfortable double bed in the bedroom, and a quality sofa bed in the living room (please request additional bedding, £10). The kitchen is fully equipped, including a 6kg washer/dryer. Off-road parking outside the cottage. Secure bike storage - just ask! No beams or open fires. Just clean, comfortable, with everything needed for a peaceful stay. Please note, there is a bath with shower over - not a cubicle with power-shower.
