The Herdwick Hut

Our stylish & cosy hideaway is the ultimate escape where you can re-wild yourself in acres of tranquility. Wander straight out the door onto the mountains taking in some breathtaking views. Return home to the sauna, soothe tired limbs & then relax by spinning some vinyl from the record collection, whilst the log burner crackles & the owls enthusiastically serenade as dusk sets in! (plus we now have an indoor padel ball court for you to exercise your inner Federer!!)

An authentic English cottage experience. Isolated beside a sparkling stream on our secluded organic farm, Otter Cottage is a peaceful escape beneath the Black Mountains. Wander the countryside, explore Hay-on-Wye, spot Red Kites and Kingfishers from your window, then settle beside the log fire as night falls and the stars appear in the dark skies. This is a place to reconnect with yourself and nature whilst enjoying the timeless beauty of the Welsh Borders.

This self-contained studio is the perfect location for cycling, canoeing, gliding, horse riding, fishing, wild swimming, and exploring the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. A footpath at the door, with just a 5 min walk to the river and approx. 1 mile to the Offa's Dyke path which takes you to Hay Bluff. Very pleasant footpath/ bike route to the town . Bike storage on request, CCTV cameras on premises and free car park space provided.
