Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

House of Zen: Peaceful Modern Cabin on Tryon Farm

The House of Zen is an architect designed home situated in the woods, part of a sustainable farm community on 170 acres. Only an hour drive from Chicago, and close to Indiana Dunes National Park, it is the ultimate escape. The perfect getaway for couples, creatives and nature lovers who want some peace, quiet and space. Explore the farm trails & enjoy the wildlife and soothing sounds. Note: We have a 3 night minimum stay during summer, but open up 2 night stays 1-2 weeks before if possible.

Life's A Beach! Relaxing ranch close to beach!!!

Relax with the family at this peaceful place to stay. Enjoy coffee in the hammock, or smores by the fire pit. Enjoy the pool table, ping pong or board games in the game room. Play wii or relax and watch some tv and unwind. 3 minute drive to Sheridan beach or 10 minute walk. 5 minute drive to Washington Park Zoo, 20 minutes to Indiana Dunes and under 15 minutes to New Buffalo. Less than 10 minutes to downtown Michigan city for dining /shopping. 5 minutes to Blue Chip Casino and Premium Outlets.

The White Cottage Home

This cottage home was built less than 5 years ago. The space is modern and open. It’s located less than 10 mins walk to Lake Michigan beach access. Guests can walk a few minutes to enjoy nearby restaurants such as Dune Billies for breakfast and Cool Runnings Jamaican restaurant. There’s a nearby park and a small dune for short hikes. Other nearby attractions include the Washington park and zoo (5-10 min walk), Blue Chip casino (2 min drive), the Indiana Dunes National Park (20 min drive)

South Shore Line electric train platform is right behind property. (in quiet zone). Day trips are easy to downtown Chicago or South Bend IN. Catch a Notre Dame game one day and see the Bears the next.
